Legends and Heroes Open Call for 2008 Posted by Dammi on May 7, 2008
Just a reminder that we have an Open Call for Writers running at the
moment: Driven by the success of our previous Open Calls (for the Name-giver’s Compendium in 2006 and the Earthdawn Codex in 2007), we are happy to announce the Legends and Heroes Open Call for Writers for 2008:
We are planning to publish a new supplement for the Earthdawn game: the Legends and Heroes
sourcebook. The intent of this book is to offer players and gamemasters
insight into the legends told among the people of Barsaive and the bold
tales of the heroes walking the earth, fighting Horrors, and wielding
legendary magical treasures. This book will also provide suggestions
for creating adventures based on each of the legends and heroes
presented, and will include game statistics for use in your campaigns.
For more information on the details of this open call (including how to participate), click here. We are looking forward to your submissions!
Return to the Blue Planet Posted by Dammi on May 6, 2008
(Auckland,
New Zealand) May 7, 2008—RedBrick Limited announced today that they
have successfully concluded negotiations with Biohazard Games for a
license to publish roleplaying products for the Blue Planet milieu.
Blue Planet is a science-fiction roleplaying game set in humanity's
near future. Prepare for a compelling journey to a distant water world
where life is hard and dying is easy. A world where GEO Marshals
enforce the peace and wired mercenaries patrol deep waters in deadly
fighter subs. A planet where corporate greed and human desperation
ravage an alien ecology, threatening to plunge humanity into a war of
survival with an ancient legacy. Welcome to Poseidon. Welcome to Blue
Planet.
James Flowers, RedBrick Company Director, said "At RedBrick we work
with game properties that we feel passionate about. Blue Planet is one
of these properties and we look forward to continuing in the footsteps
of Biohazard Games. Jeff Barber and Greg Benage have created an
exciting game with a lot of unexplored potential. Equally important,
Blue Planet is a game that foreshadows a lot of the events happening in
our own world. RedBrick will continue to work closely with Biohazard
Games to ensure continuity with the original vision for Blue Planet."
Jeff Barber, Biohazard Games President, said "We are excited that
the Blue Planet adventure will continue. Fans of the game have been
waiting a long time for a revitalization of the line, and RedBrick's
community-based approach means that not only will their patience be
rewarded, but that the Blue Planet player community will actually have
a voice in the direction the new line takes."
James Flowers added, "At present, we have a lot to do and our
immediate focus is making the Second Edition books available in
electronic format as eBooks, and getting the Ancient Echoes supplement
back into print. We will announce more details on what we have planned
for the future of Blue Planet in due course."
More information and official forums can be found at RedBrick's Blue Planet web site at http://www.blueplanet-rpg.com

Miniatures Update Posted by Dammi on April 22, 2008
As you might have guessed, we have decided to discontinue our miniatures range. It's sad news, because the miniatures were great. We may look to bring them back at some point in the future, but at the moment a lot of other things have priority. The remaining stock will be sold exclusively at conventions (such as the EFC2008 or the Spiel'08) or by special request. Please use our contact form if you are looking for a specific miniature and we'll see what we can do for you.
